Cloud forest clothes the tops of all except the highest of Costa Rica mountains. It belongs to the Intercontinental divided line of the country which is also abridged with more national parks creating an important place for endemic animals and plants.

 Monteverde is in the northeast mountains of Costa Rica just 2h 30 min driving from Juan Santamaria Airport or 2h 20 min from Liberia Airport.
