Traveling along Highway #1, you will experience the breathtaking landscapes of Guanacaste—vast lowlands, sun-drenched days, majestic old trees, and stunning volcanoes. This journey takes you through the most beautiful sunsets and breezy landscapes in the paradise known as Guanacaste.

 Cañas Dulces still preserves the traditional rural landscape of Guanacaste and retains the charm of this humble and welcoming people living at the base of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano. It’s a place filled with old country roads, trails, pastures, and natural freshwater rivers where you can enjoy natural pools and refresh during the tour.

 The lowlands are abundant with agricultural fields, freshwater rivers to explore, easy walking paths, and abundant wildlife. Here, you'll find peace and tranquility, listening to the sounds of nature as you search for birds and wildlife. This tour offers an authentic Costa Rican experience and a glimpse into the true Guanacaste lifestyle—where you can discover the meaning of “pura vida” and how Costa Ricans live.

 Immerse yourself in off-the-beaten-path adventures that showcase natural swimming pools, expansive savannas, and agricultural fields, including rare rice plantations, as well as watermelon, corn, bean, and melon crops. Experience the region’s wildlife, tropical dry forests, cultural heritage, cattle ranches, and authentic cuisine, prepared in a traditional kitchen by residents who create real Costa Rican food.

 The tour covers approximately of about 5 miles, taking approximately 2 to 3 hours. You'll travel along old routes and paths through the savanna, past ancient trees, wildlife, birds, and forest, ultimately reaching a freshwater natural river pool.

 The tour includes a bike, a certified guide, parking, showers, and a traditional Guanacaste lunch. Night tours are also available upon request.

 The meeting point is in the town of Cañas Dulces, at our office where the activities begin and end.
